Political Parties, Public Associations and Other Non-Profit Organizations

Main functions

In accordance with the Regulations on the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, approved by Resolution No. 545 of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated July 26, 2024, the Department of Non-Governmental Organizations performs the following functions in accordance with the tasks assigned to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus:

state registration of political parties, republican trade unions, international and republican public associations, their unions (associations), republican state-public associations, republican and international foundations established on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organizational structures of international public associations established on the territory of foreign states, permanent international arbitration (arbitration) courts, permanent arbitration courts, established as non-governmental organizations;

state registration of other non-profit organizations in cases stipulated by legislative acts;

maintaining State registers of political parties, republican trade unions, international and republican public associations, their unions (associations), the Register of Judges and permanent arbitration courts;

state registration of anthems, badges, pennants, ties of political parties, republican trade unions, international and republican public associations, their unions (associations), republican state-public associations;

issuance of certificates to the heads of political parties, republican trade unions, international and republican public associations, their unions (associations), republican and international foundations established in the territory of the Republic of Belarus;

provision of information contained in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs in respect of legal entities registered by the Ministry of Justice;

provision of information contained in the State Register of Public Associations, Unions (Associations) of Public Associations, the State Register of Political Parties, Unions (Associations) of Political Parties;

providing methodological assistance to employees of the main departments of justice of the regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee who carry out state registration of public associations, state registration, registration of organizational structures of political parties, trade unions and other public associations, as well as monitoring their work;

summarizing the practice of applying legislation on public associations in the Republic of Belarus, organizing seminars, meetings with employees of the main departments of justice of the regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee, other government bodies and local executive and administrative bodies, with representatives of all types of public associations on issues of state registration and activities of political parties, trade unions, other public associations, their unions (associations);

implementation of control activities in cases prescribed by law.
